International Showcase

2025

The International Showcase is on Friday February 7th 2025 from 5:00pm – 8:00pm!

The International Showcase will be on February 7th from  5:00pm- 8:00pm. This event is to celebrate CDM’s diverse culture. Bring a traditional or family favorite dish to share (16-20 servings), enjoy crafts, displays and entertainment and learn something new about the various cultural backgrounds of our students and their families! Everyone is encouraged to wear traditional attire to represent their heritage. This is a free PTA-sponsored and organized event.

  • Food: Please spread the word that we are encouraging all attendees to bring a traditional or family favorite dish to share (16-20 servings). No need to sign up to bring a dish, but please reach out to [email protected] if you have any questions.
  • Showcases: Let’s try to fill our MUR with all of our amazing cultures at CDM! Please reach out to friends and encourage them to represent their countries. We are looking for parents who are willing to put together a showcase. Responsibilities include setting up a table representing your country on Friday evening (4:00 pm) before the event and then manning your table during the entire event (5:00 pm – 8:00 pm). Details on setup/presentation will be sent out to those who sign up. The families will “tour the world” visiting each table and learning something about that country. If you would like to you can join a country group or if you would like to add another country to the event, please do so we would be thrilled! If you or anyone you know would like to represent a country, please reach out to Stefania Bruschi: [email protected]. We have a limited space and tables, so please sign-up by January 29th!
  • Performances: If you, your child, or a cultural group, would like to perform, please sign-up HERE. Due to the limited amount of time, we have just 12 performance spots, so please sign-up soon. Each act must be less than 3 minutes long. If you have any questions regarding the performances, please reach out to Susan Ying Ma: [email protected].

Families for Equity in Education is part of the North County COastal PTA and addresses issues of diversity, equity and inclusion at school and at home. Our work depends on fostering relationships with families throughout the North Coastal Communities of San Diego County so that we can do the important, but sometimes uncomfortable, work of working towards change.

The hope is that by learning about each other we can work towards the collective good of all. Incorporating this work into our everyday lives is a journey, with the ultimate goal of recognizing and honoring the humanity and inherent worth of each person in our community.
